Kidney Essence (Jing) houses two different but inseparable energies known as Yin Essence and Yang Essence.
Yang Essence is a warming kinetic energy that enables all the organs of the body to function. The Kidney Yang energy is responsible for our sex drive, physical vitality, skeletal structure, will power, courage, and overall energy. Yin Essence is a cooling energy and substance that generates fluids in the body that includes the saliva, blood, sweat, tears, sexual fluids, lymph fluids, spinal fluid and overall moisture. When Yin deficient, people often feel dry, agitated, and inflexible.
